A good quote request gets you a fast, accurate price. A vague one gets you three rounds of follow-up questions. If you want your lineset quote back quickly — with the right sizes, the right quantities, and no surprises — here’s what to include when you reach out.

The sizes and quantities

This is the core of it. List each lineset size you need and how many of each. For example: “4 × 1/4″ × 3/8″, 2 × 1/4″ × 1/2″.” If you’re not sure about sizing, include the equipment model numbers and we’ll help you match — but if you already know the sizes, lead with them.

Our stocked sizes are 1/4″ × 3/8″, 1/4″ × 1/2″, and 3/8″ × 5/8″ — all 25 ft pre-insulated twin copper coils with 1/2-inch insulation. If your job calls for something different, tell us anyway. We’ll let you know what’s available rather than leaving you guessing.

Equipment model numbers (if sizing is uncertain)

If you haven’t locked in the line sizes, send the indoor and outdoor model numbers. We’ll check the manufacturer’s piping guidance against what we stock and confirm the match. It’s faster and more reliable than guessing — and it protects you from ordering the wrong copper and finding out on install day. Our sizing guide walks through what the manual looks for and why the model number matters more than tonnage.

When you need it

Include your needed-by date, and be straight about whether it’s firm. “Need by Friday for a Monday install” gets a different response than “sometime next month.” Stock and pricing are confirmed at the time of quotation, and what’s available depends on the shelf when you order — not when you first asked. The earlier we know your date, the better we can plan around it.

Pickup or delivery

Tell us whether you’ll pick up or need delivery. If you’re in the Calgary area, pickup or delivery is by confirmed arrangement — let us know which you prefer. For delivery, include the job-site address and any access details (gate codes, site contact, whether there’s a forklift on site). It saves a phone call and avoids a driver showing up unprepared.

Your contact and company details

Include your name, company name, phone number, and email. If you’re a repeat customer, say so — we’ll have your details on file. If you’re new to us, the company name helps us set up contractor pricing. We don’t publish price lists; contractor pricing is confirmed at the time of quotation, based on what you’re ordering.

Anything unusual about the job

If there’s something non-standard, say so upfront: a very long lineset run, an uncommon size, a tight deadline, material for multiple job sites, a phased project where you’ll need drops over several weeks. The more context we have, the fewer back-and-forth emails. For large volumes or multi-site work, look at bulk orders — there may be a smarter way to structure it than a series of one-off quotes.

What slows a quote down

The most common delays are missing sizes (“need linesets for a 3-ton”) and missing dates (“ASAP”). “3-ton” doesn’t tell us the line size — the model number does. And “ASAP” doesn’t tell us whether you need it tomorrow or next month. A complete request with sizes, quantities, a date, and contact details can usually be turned around in one pass. An incomplete one can’t.

What a good request looks like

Here’s an example that gets a fast turnaround:

Hi — need a quote for:
– 6 × 1/4″ × 3/8″ pre-insulated linesets
– 2 × 3/8″ × 5/8″ pre-insulated linesets
Needed by: March 15
Pickup in Calgary — we’ll come to you
ABC Mechanical, John — 403-555-0123 — john@abcmech.ca

That’s it. Sizes, quantities, date, pickup or delivery, contact. We can quote that without a single follow-up question.

Common questions

Do I need an account to get a quote? No. Send your material list to info@corelinehvac.ca or call 587-437-0483 and we’ll quote it. Contractor pricing is confirmed at the time of quotation.

Can you help with sizing? Yes — send the equipment model numbers and we’ll match against the manufacturer’s piping guidance and our stocked sizes. There’s more on this in our FAQ.

What if I need it fast? Tell us the date upfront. We’ll confirm what’s in stock and what the timeline looks like. We don’t promise same-day — we confirm availability and pricing at the time of quotation, honestly.
